Bird Proofing - Post and Wire

Fine stainless steel wires are placed between fixed metal posts and then attached via small steel springs. This results in taut wires which prevent birds from perching on the original surface. The whole system resists damage due to the shock absorbing springs and this elasticity also makes perching on the wires an uncomfortable experience for birds. Several parallel wires are usually required to protect any one area and posts can be glued into position or fixed directly into brickwork.
This elegant and low visibility option does not significantly inhibit access and wires can be easily removed and replaced if necessary. From ground level this type of proofing is almost invisible and is ideal for protecting window ledges and sills. Correct installation of a post and wire system is labour intensive when compared to spike and coil instillation, however material costs can be much lower.
